DigiGroup Security Case Study - CCTV System Installation at The Ostlers

The Client: Worthing Homes Housing Association
Site Address:The Ostlers, Terminus Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex BN17 5BS
Date and duration: June 2011 – 4 day install. Value: £4,500

The Customer Brief. Worthing Homes commissioned the refurbishment and redesign of the old Railway Club in Littlehampton. The scheme incorporated 6 one bedroom flats, 14 two bedroom flats and 3 four bedroom maisonettes. Worthing Homes asked DigiGroup to design and install a bespoke CCTV system providing comprehensive coverage of all key areas. The system had to be compatible with the Housing Association’s network to enable remote viewing from their Head Office and the ability to search easily and download footage via the network without the need for a visit to site.

The Solution. Working closely with client’s development team, DigiGroup surveyed the development to determine which areas required camera surveillance to both discourage anti social behaviour and reassure prospective residents that their personal and property security was a priority. An eight camera system was installed viewing the front entrance, bin and bicycle stores, two internal stairways and communal areas and a lift camera provided optimum coverage whilst keeping expenditure to a minimum. DigiGroup installed a Dedicated Micros Ecosense 8-Channel DVR allowing capacity for a further additional 3 cameras to be installed at a later date should the need arise. Camera specification is true day/night anti vandal domes with external units incorporating 24 LED’s providing up to 30 metres of infrared lighting for optimum night time imaging. The DVR has been configured to provide 30 days record time at 3 pictures per second, per camera and can be dialled into remotely enabling Worthing Homes Head Office to view the images over a secure Internet connection.

The Conclusion. Working to strict budget and time constraints DigiGroup delivered a total CCTV system solution that met with the required criteria and specification expected by Worthing Homes Housing Association in consideration of their residents’ aspirations.
